Oxford winter league - Oxford canal

3lb 3oz of small roach. More enjoyable than Saturday as at least I had a chance which I did not feel I had on saturday
  2. The 6th and final round of the Angling trust Oxford winter league was fished by 6 teams of 8 on the Oxford canal form Kidlington to Oxford. With frost's all week and a gin clear canal the fishing was hard but all caught a few fish. A lack of boat traffic due to lock work did not help. On the team front the 2 Oxford Drennan teams both confirmed their qualification for the Winter league final on the Fen drains and Decoy lakes. On the individual front Steve Townsend comfortably won this with another section win and 33 points from a possible 36. Individual 1st Kevin Holmes - Sensas A4 - 10lb 15oz. Kevin drew bottom end peg at Kings bridge and had skimmers and roach on bloodworm fished over chopped worm and joker feed. 2nd Darren Rogers - Sensas Reading 5lb 14oz. With 1 round to go both Drennan Oxford teams look set to qualify for the winter league final to be fished on the Fen drains and Decoy lakes in February. Individual 1st Dean Barlow – Drennan Blue - 10lb 1oz. Dean made the most of a end peg draw to catch mainly quality perch on double fished on the pole. 2nd Geoff Lewendon – Drennan Aqua - 9lb 11oz.
